About Me

I’m Henry Feit, an IT and cybersecurity professional with a strong interest in networking, systems administration, infrastructure, security, and audiovisual technology. I enjoy building, managing, and troubleshooting real-world technology environments, ranging from servers and virtualization platforms to enterprise networking, monitoring systems, cloud services, cybersecurity tools, and large-scale A/V systems.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at the University of Central Florida and plan to graduate in Fall 2027. I also hold an Associate in Arts in General Studies from Valencia College. While attending UCF, I am actively involved with Hack@UCF, where I serve as an Infrastructure Administrator, Operations team member, and mentor. Through the organization, I have gained valuable hands-on experience supporting technical infrastructure, collaborating with other students, and helping others develop their cybersecurity, networking, and technology skills.

More recently, I have been helping develop a cybersecurity competition called Horse Plinko. In this challenge, competitors are responsible for defending two Windows and two Linux systems against an experienced red team. Each virtual machine hosts critical services that must remain operational throughout the competition, requiring participants to balance system availability, security, incident response, troubleshooting, and defense against active attacks. Working on Horse Plinko has allowed me to further develop my experience in defensive security, system hardening, infrastructure management, and the creation of realistic cybersecurity environments.

I’m also the founder of Palm Tech IT, where I work with individuals and small businesses to provide practical technology solutions, technical support, infrastructure improvements, and IT services. Running my own IT business has given me hands-on experience beyond the technical side of the industry, including customer service, project management, troubleshooting, planning, and designing solutions around the specific needs of a business.

Another major area of my technical experience is audiovisual technology. I have worked with, maintained, and operated A/V systems for a variety of large-scale productions and environments. My experience includes working with professional audio, video, signal distribution, control systems, and other production technologies used to support live events and large A/V installations. I have also operated and supported large-scale A/V booths, where reliability, communication, troubleshooting, and the ability to respond quickly to technical problems are essential. This experience has given me a strong understanding of how audio, video, networking, and IT infrastructure increasingly work together in modern production environments.

Technology is only one of my passions. Music has been an important part of my life for many years. I have played piano for 16 years and percussion for 11 years, giving me experience across a variety of musical styles and performance environments. I currently play piano in my own jazz combo, The Pocket Four, where we perform jazz standards and other selections from the jazz repertoire. Performing music has strengthened my creativity, communication, adaptability, and ability to collaborate as part of a team—skills that also carry over into my technical and professional work.

Outside of my professional, academic, and musical work, I maintain an active homelab where I experiment with technologies such as Proxmox, OpenStack, Windows Server, Linux, VPNs, DNS, monitoring platforms, storage systems, networking, and security tools. I enjoy learning through hands-on experience: building systems, testing new technologies, solving problems, and continually finding ways to improve the environments I manage.

My goal is to continue expanding my knowledge and experience across cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, networking, and audiovisual technology. I am particularly interested in developing further expertise in security operations, network defense, system hardening, incident response, infrastructure engineering, and enterprise technology while continuing to explore the intersection between IT, cybersecurity, and professional A/V systems.
